How it all began

The story of how Malpass Butchery was created started in 1812 with a Vale Pasture Farmer...

1812

 

Daniel Malpass works as a Vale pasture farmer in Gloucestershire. He meets the love of his life Frances Tester and has 12 children.

1861

 

Daniel Malpass and Frances Tester give birth to their 5th child Tester James Malpass who goes on to become a Dad himself and has 4 children of his own.

1888

 

Tester James Malpass and Annie Maria Lusted give birth to their 3rd child Edward George Malpass.

1937

 

George Malpass follows in his fathers footstep and becomes a butcher. He later goes on to open E.G Malpass that proudly stood on the corner of High Street and Church Lane Tonbridge. Many of our older residents will remember the butcher with sawdust strewn on the floor.

1973

1990

 

Jamie Malpass took over the company in the 1990s, overseeing all parts of the business and is responsible for providing the succulent meats that you see today.
