Smoked Boneless Gammon

Christmas wouldn’t be the same without gammon and our smoked version is both tender and deliciously flavoured.

The traditional habit of pinching a cold cut from the fridge will remain firm this festive season with this joint, which also lends itself to great sandwiches, omelettes and as an ingredient with stir fried rice and leftover vegetables.

The difference between ham and gammon (the name being traced back to the French word 'jambe' for the hind leg of a pig) is purely the fact that ham is cooked while gammon is sold raw.

Cooking is simple – boil first and then finish in the oven. It can be kept simple or glazed and studded in decorative cloves for a marvellous centre piece.
